Hits 10 or The Hits Album 10 is the tenth release of the Hits series, compiled by BMG, CBS and WEA. It was released in the UK June 6, 1989. With this release, the compilers returned to the tradition of a volume issue number and the revival of artwork used from Hits 6 to Hits 8, with the issue number forming a central graphic against a black background. It was a successful album and reached Number 1 on the UK Compilation Album chart for 6 consecutive weeks and achieved a Platinum sales award.
Ironically however, this would the last release in the Hits series to follow the chronological number ordering it had used from its launch in 1984. From now on, there would be several rebrands, with the next release in the lengthy series called Monster Hits.
The issue-number format would go on to be revived in 2002 with Sony Music, BMG and Warner Music releasing Hits 50 around the same time as Now That's What I Call Music! 50
